Meet the NHG Team!

With over 40 years working in the horticulture, retail and design industries, Rusty began at NHG in 2011 as Garden Advisor. The Education & Outreach role was created for him in 2014, and since, he schedules all on- and off-site programming for North Haven. Greatly enjoying teaching others the many rewards of gardening, Rusty loves to focus on organics, wildscaping, and Texas natives. Rusty is a North Texas Master Naturalist and Texas Certified Nursery Professional.


Kathy is a self-certified ‘Crazy Plant Lady’ and joined NHG in 2023 after a long career in medicine. She has a special place in her heart for tropical plants and orchids, and also has many years experience growing perennials, vegetables and herbs. She is also a connoisseur of teas and tea making and enjoys teaching others this unique craft. 


Mark has worked in the nursery industry for over 25 years and joined NHG in 2007. He loves year-round gardening of all kinds, cooking and baking.



Robert joined NHG in April of 2021 after working with Marriott Hotel group. He formerly owned and operated his own remodeling and renovations company after working for his family’s office furniture business. Robert is an avid birder and enjoys motorcycles and the outdoors.



Mickie joined NHG in 1999 in Contract Sales as a sales associate, became the Contract Sales Assistant Manager in 2004, and transitioned to retail & hardgoods buyer in 2007. She returned in 2013 as Contract Sales Manager & Nursery Buyer. She manages NHG’s rose program, loves Japanese Maples, enjoys gardening, and reading books.



Griselda joined NHG in 2009 and has held a variety of roles within the organization, from visual merchandising to gift and décor buyer. After leaving for a while as she raised her three children, she’s back in the role of managing our new store-within-a store concept, Ralph & Rose Boutique and Café. Griselda is a devoted mom and loves to stay active as an avid soccer player.


Keith has worked in the nursery industry for over a decade, joining NHG in 2018. His gardening hobby led to a full-time career. He enjoys how plants can transform any space.


 

 

 

 

 

Ann joined NHG in 1968 caring for Bromeliads & Peperomias in the tropical greenhouse. Her background in horticulture includes a degree in agriculture from Texas A&M, and a degree in biology from SMU. She returned in 2014 as a Garden Advisor & specializes in tropical greenhouse plant care. Her interests include entomology, family history, photography, & collecting art.


Sandi joined NHG in 2010 as a Garden Advisor, and in 2012 transitioned into the Hardgoods Buyer position. In 2014 she accepted the Senior Buyer position which allowed her feed her addiction of buying plants. Sandi was senior curator of the Gallery at NHG and spearheaded the effort to get the gallery into the Dallas Art Dealers Association. She is a North Texas Master Naturalist and Texas Master Certified Nursery Professional.


Marxel joined NHG as a Garden Advisor after working in our landscapes as a member of Flower Child Plants, a local boutique landscape design company. He is a gifted teacher and loves to share his passion for plants, ecology and the natural world.


Cody first came to NHG as a Garden Advisor in 2005 and returned as General Manager in 2013. Cody’s background in horticulture includes a degree in Landscape Ecology/Botany from UT Austin, along with internships with the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and management of the John Fairey Garden in Hempstead. While Cody loves Texas ecology and our native flora, he also buys our tropical greenhouse plants and has a thriving interest in exotic collector plants, as well. Cody is a Texas Certified Nursery Professional (TCNP), Texas Certified Landscape Professional (TCLP) and has honorary memberships with Dallas County Master Gardeners and Garden Masters, Inc. 


Lynette’s formal education and background is in horticulture & landscape design. One of her passions is matching the right plants with people who want to give them homes. She has worked independently and for other nurseries, but found a true home when she joined the North Haven team in 2015. Since then, she has enjoyed sharing knowledge with customers so they can keep their landscapes thriving with lasting, artful beauty that brings value to their homes.




Kay has over 40 years of experience in the field of horticulture and has been a Garden Advisor and Garden Coach with North Haven Gardens since 2005. Prior to that time, she had her own interior landscape company, Caretakers; volunteered at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Society; taught classes, and did public speaking on various related topics. She is a Texas Certified Nursery Professional and Rosemary Circle Member at-large of The Herb Society of America.


Tommy been with NHG since early 2013 and served as cashier, head cashier, garden advisor, merchandiser and gift and décor buyer. He works full time as a Garden Manager for a local landscape design firm, but joins us part-time during peak season. He has a wide range of expertise in gardening and enjoys the outdoors and camping in his spare time.




Brieux helped grow organic veggies and herbs during the urban vegetable program launch at Blue Label Herbs in 2007, and became an NHG Garden Advisor in 2012. He is a local farmer, equestrian, and loves cooking with farm-to-table herbs, gardening, kayaking, and mountain biking.


Dana joined the NHG team in 2017, then in 2019 transitioned into the role of Private Events Coordinator. The October 2019 tornado gave her the opportunity to develop the “NHG in the Field” plant walks in public parks – activities that perfectly suit her love of open, wild spaces. She currently oversees the Garden Coach program and the recruitment and training of new staff members. Dana has been a North Texas Master Naturalist since 2001.
