Our First Steps to Re-Blooming
In just one week since the catastrophic tornado that hit NHG, so many important things have happened:
1. Plans to rebuild were immediately underway. From a statement from the family:
“As many of you know, our NHG facilities were totally destroyed on October 20th by the tornadoes…on behalf of the Pinkus family, we want you all to know that NHG has always been about our close relationship with our unique North Dallas community and that will not be diminished…in fact, we are more committed than ever to be your local, personal nursery, taking care of your needs in a family environment as we have done for over 68 years…
2. As our teams work to clean up and take stock, we’re planning a fun, casual ‘SURVIVORS SALE’ for Friday, November 8th through Sunday, November 10th, from 9a-3p each day.
This will be a garage/sidewalk sale for plants and hard goods that we’ve deemed salvageable ‘survivors’ that need a good home in Dallas. The sale will be cash only, with no holds or deliveries, so plan to take your purchases with you same day. Check our Facebook page for updates.
3. CHRISTMAS IS COMING:
NHG is a favorite destination for the finest wreaths, trees, poinsettias and greenery around! We’re moving full steam ahead on securing a temporary operational place so that we can continue to honor these long standing traditions this holiday season. Stay tuned!
4. It’s official! Holiday Art & Gift Market Updates
North Haven Gardens is excited to partner with Northaven Church (sometimes known as Northaven United Methodist Church, on the southwest corner of Northaven and Preston Road), to host our 4th annual Holiday Art & Gift Market on Saturday, Dec. 7, 9am-5pm. The church is a gorgeous setting for art: a long, curving hallway with tall glass walls leading down to an expansive, airy fellowship hall, all filled with beautiful natural light. And the staff at Northaven Church: we couldn’t ask for any more enthusiastic, helpful, welcoming hosts. We feel so lucky to work with this fine organization – lucky that we can share a mission of reaching out to and welcoming the community in many different ways.
