The company provides seven day delivery for most of the year. Turnover is minimal as many employees have grown into there current positions through years of experience. The company believes that its employees are its most important resource and that they should be invested in and helped to develop to their full potential. Employee participation in grower conferences, in-house training sessions, employee goal setting, and the recruiting of new employees help insure an interested, committed staff of the opportunity for continued personal learning and growth. Greenhouse positions include:

Greenhouse Sales

The sales team takes a major role in defining the direction and nature of the business. New sales-personnel work through a fast track rotation to give them a good understanding of all areas and functions need to properly satisfy the customer. Sales-personnel are then assigned a group of customers and trained on the company's service plan. They participate in production of sales materials, contribute to crop planning, pricing, and policy decisions. First class customer service and careful follow- through keep our customers satisfied and coming back.

Greenhouse Grower

There are several levels of area and crop responsibility available to greenhouse growers depending on experience, knowledge, and performance. Growers take full control of area and/or crop cultural event management from production through pulling, including crop documentation. Growing trials are encouraged, as we are always looking for improvements. The use of mechanization is a must. Growers contribute to planning what crops will be produced and how many, as well as what resources will best be allocated for what crops. We are always looking for least toxic and/or more organic methods of production. We use a priority system as a decision making tool and give consistent support to the company goals which we refer to often to help us keep properly focused.

Production Supervisor

Almost all our production and soil making is under the production supervisor. This position requires a thorough understanding of substrate physics and chemistry, crop schedules, space management, production equipment use and maintenance, seasonal priorities, employee supervision, motivation and growth. Keeping up on technical developments is a must in this fast paced position.

Greenhouse Service Technician

Today greenhouse growing involves the use of a lot of specialized equipment that must be maintained and improved on a continuing basis. This requires a working knowledge of growing, electricity, electronics, boilers, irrigation, drainage, glazing, surveying, water chemistry, welding, carpentry, equipment operation, construction, supervision, and planning.

Delivery Drivers

The last person the customer contacts is often the delivery driver. This person "is" the company to the customer. They are expected to be able to identify all the plants and represent themselves and the rest of us in a professional manner, that we can all be proud of. They are a key link in who we are and define our capability at satisfying the customer as much as anyone on the team.
