Gray-green felty leaves w/white flowers. Cultivated as treat for cats. Attractive when young, but soon develops tall, stiff, woody stems that become leggy. At this stage, chop back plants to make them look neater. Shear off flowers before they set seeds. Catnip may be used to make a soothing tea; rub dry leaves lightly in a colander to remove stems and to release more flavor. Snip off the flowers and spread them out to dry in a dark, well-ventilated area | |
