Does your grass look like it is on summer vacation? If so, you will want to fertilize. You may want to give it a dose of an organic, slow-release fertilizer that will help to promote strong root development. The 3-1-2 ratio is formulated and balanced with all natural ingredients. Most warm season grasses like St. Augustine and bermuda grass should be fertilized April 1, June 1, August 1, and October 1. A good fertilization in the fall is very critical for your grass! The benefits to using a slow-release fertilizer is that you are building nutrient levels in the soil and plant. The slow-release fertilizer supplies the plants with uniform amount of nutrients. After your fertilizer is applied, you will want to water the area. An inch of water should be enough to activate the fertilizer. Most people suggest watering lawns 1-2 days a week during the summer. This should be more than adequate to maintain a green lawn. North Haven carries several high quality organic lawn fertilizers. They include: the North Havens Organic Fertilizer , Texas Tee,  Bradfield, and Greensense. If you have fertilizer left over when the lawn is finished they also work great to perk up groundcover beds. Fertilization and watering are the keys to maintaining a healthy, green lawn all year long.
