Now that the holidays are over, take a few quiet moments
to relax and enjoy dreaming of gifts to come for the year 2002. Consider
creating a container garden of herbs to enhance a sunny spot on a window
sill or garden room. Brighten a patio or front entryway with a container
planted with winter-blooming plants such as cyclamen, primrose, or pansies.
Summer-blooming bulbs will arriving soon - a basket of bulbs, gloves,
bulb food, and a trowel makes a great "chase the winter blahs away"
gift for any gardening enthusiast.
The Spring collection of ceramic containers is always exciting with the
bright new colors and sizes. Our blue and white collection continues to
be one of the most popular in the store. An outstanding collection of
wrought iron crosses and artifacts in many beautiful designs creates a
special effect to patio décor - the designs are Celtic, Spanish
and early European. Consider a slate outdoor clock to keep track of time
while in the garden.
January and February are perfect months to plan changes in the garden's
design. Our large selection of books will offer choices for planning,
selection, and care of native and drought-tolerant plants that are well-adapted
plants for our climate. Perhaps a visit to our tropical greenhouse with
the choice of an orchid, begonia, bromeliad, or another one of the many
varieties of tropicals will add a touch of color to a cloudy winter day.
For the gardener who has everything, a compact, easy-to-operate, rotating
compost bin is great to tuck away in a corner of the garden. If you cannot
decide, a North Haven gift certificate is always a welcome gift for any
gardener during the coming year!
