As we welcome the year 2001 with great anticipation, we look forward to spring and the pleasure of selecting wonderful garden-type gifts for family and friends.
January is a great time for books. “Month by Month Gardening in Texas” by Dale Groom and Don Gill is a wonderful addition to your personal Garden Library. As a companion book, “A Texas Garden” is a beautifully-designed gardener’s journal for your garden notes and records – also by Dale Groom who is a well known expert in the North Texas region. You might want to mark your calendar also: Dale Groom will be at North Haven Gardens on January 20th at 1:00 p.m. to do personal signings of his newest book.
Our collection of exquisite silk orchids are in such demand, we have enlarged our winter/spring collection to include new varieties, such as Cattleya, Vanda, and Phalaenopsis in several sizes and many colors. These offer the beauty of an orchid in the corner of a room that is too dark to grow a real plant. You really must touch them to realize that they are not “fresh growing”. They come “planted” in a lovely container and several are offered pre-boxed – ready to wrap to give and delight the indoor gardener.
Everyone is enjoying the beautiful new collection of scented candles, potpourri, room spray and refresher oils. A few of the scents we offer are Magnolias, Rose, Grecian Pear, Apple Cinnamon and Vintage Berry. Light an apple cinnamon candle, and everyone will be wondering where that freshly baked apple pie is.
Always a welcome gift for the gardener is a basket filled with gloves, trowel, and a collection of summer blooming bulbs. The lily, anemone, ranunculus and hardy amaryllis will be arriving near the end of January.
Beautiful pastel ceramic containers are arriving almost daily. Many are adorned with beautiful spring flowers including hand-painted violets – and there are charming basket styles and delightful blue-and-white selections among many others. To complete this collection, we have new oriental selections in a large variety of shapes and sizes. Copper tubs with brass trim are always popular and available in medium and large sizes.
Verde rabbits have recently hopped into the store and would like to become the whimsical touch to your small garden, patio, or garden room.
Need a quick gift idea? A North Haven Gardens gift certificate is always treasured and one of the easiest gifts to give. We look forward to assisting you with your gift needs.
